Off Road Tours

Explore stunning scenery in an overland adventure as you are expertly driven through high country farmland on the cusp of the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. Knowledgeable guides share the land’s stories, offering a deep connection to the mountains, valleys and people who shaped this region.

Departing from the Hermitage Hotel, this guided journey ventures into the high country aboard a purpose-built Mercedes Unimog, designed for comfort, stability and true off-road travel.

The route enters the Top Block of Glentanner Station, a private and rarely accessed landscape, following sections of the original road once used to reach Mt Cook Village. Glacial riverbeds, open tussock plains and alpine ridgelines frame stories of early explorers and station life. Inside the custom-built vehicle, individual full-suspension seats and wide panoramic windows, including overhead viewing panels, deliver a smooth ride and uninterrupted views of Aoraki/Mount Cook, Lake Pukaki and the Tasman Valley.
