Tasman Glacier Skiing

You don’t have to be an expert to ski the Haupapa/Tasman Glacier – the skiing terrain is ideal for intermediate and advanced skiers.

Enjoy New Zealand’s longest ski runs with panoramic scenery of the biggest mountains and glaciers in the country. Skiing the Tasman Glacier includes two long ski runs of up to 12 km each run, professional guide service, lunch, three scenic aircraft flights, safety equipment, GST & DOC permit fees.

Visit incredible ice caves, peer into deep crevasses (from a safe viewing point) and visit glacial canyons. The skyscraper-sized ice blocks are an amazing sight!

Tasman Glacier Heli-Hiking

Chief guide Charlie Hobbs with over 30 years of guiding experience has explored every inch of the Tasman Glacier and knows the best areas to visit on this incredible journey.

This fly-in, fly-out heli-hike combines the excitement of walking on the mighty Haupapa/Tasman Glacier and the excitement of two helicopter (or skiplane) flights. By flying in you are able to access and explore the white ice of the glacier where it runs beside the biggest mountains in New Zealand and where the glacier’s forces work hard and often create spectacular ice formations.

Explore the amazing ice formations and possibly ice caves – yes, ice caves! Discover the workings of the Tasman Glacier and how it flows and what makes the crevasses and sinkholes appear.

Glacier Sea Kayaking

Glacier Sea-Kayaking trips are fully guided with all guides having a vast knowledge of the area and all its inhabitants. Glacier Sea-Kayaking trips suit kayakers with a small amount of paddling experience to experienced paddlers and is the only glacier kayaking company in New Zealand providing you with the best possible outdoor experience naturally.

Explore the Tasman Glacier terminal lake, the transition from glacier to lake produces impressive icebergs on a regular basis; this truly is ‘Big Iceberg Country’. This trip provides a unique opportunity to meet icebergs face to face, view the glacier terminal face from a safe distance and explore the lake with plenty of time to take it all in. There may be opportunities to beach the kayaks and explore some shoreline areas. Kayaks on all trips are fitted with sturdy outriggers to guarantee stability.
