Snow Fields

Just a short drive from Twizel, Ōhau boasts stunning views up the valley of Aoraki/Mount Cook and over Lake Ōhau. The mountain caters for all abilities with wide flat slopes for intermediates to some more adventurous terrain at the top. Powder snow, sunshine, friendly people and uncrowded slopes set Ōhau Snow Fields apart and the reason you’ll have some of the best winter fun around. Make sure to stop off at the popular lodge at the bottom – it’s Kiwi skiing at its best!

Lodge

The lodge is situated on the shores of Lake Ōhau in the heart of New Zealand’s alpine high country and is 25km off the Mackenzie highway route between Christchurch and Queenstown. The lodge is uniquely Kiwi in style with a special reputation for high country hospitality and contemporary high country food. The 72-room lodge with restaurant, bar, spa pools and tennis court has magnificent views overlooking the lake up to Aoraki/Mount Cook.

Leaving Twizel heading south on State Highway 8, take a right onto Lake Ōhau Road by the large Ōhau sign. Continue along and the lodge is on the left.
