Carnegies Restaurant & Bar

Carnegies Restaurant & Bar was originally built in 1914, one of 18 libraries that were built in New Zealand, thanks to the generosity of philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. It functioned as a library until the mid-1990s until becoming the amazing restaurant it is today.

A wood-fired oven is the centrepiece of this ambient environment that has captured flavours of New Zealand with its award-winning lamb rack, Merino lamb loins, venison, salmon, ribeye, and a diverse range of pizzas from meat lovers, to Tandoori chicken. Along with its friendly, welcoming staff, it’s a ‘must do’ when visiting the Legendary Mackenzie!
