World’s Highest Whisky Hut

Just 15 minutes from Lake Tekapo lies Glenmore Station, home of New Zealand’s (and possibly the world’s) highest whisky bar.

The 19,000-hectare merino, deer and cattle station borders Lake Tekapo and Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park offering unbeatable views all year round. The braided river networks with the backdrop of the Southern Alps make this a truly breathtaking experience.

The station offers a range of bookable huts so visitors can enjoy a range of adventure activities including ski-touring, walking, 4WD driving and guided walks. And for those after the views without the effort, then a helicopter flight in is a must.

A visit to Glenmore Station has to include a stop at the Bad Decision Hut – aka ‘Whisky Hut’. It’s believed to be New Zealand’s (and possibly the world’s) highest whisky hut. Visitors can pre-order their favourite drop and have this waiting for them to arrive.

Whisky Hut – just one reason you should visit the Legendary Mackenzie!
