Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail

The Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail is New Zealand’s longest continuous cycle trail, providing epic vistas as you make your way from the Southern Alps to the Pacific Ocean. Starting at either Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park or Lake Tekapo village, the trail is made up of 9 sections and covers 315km, finishing in the historic coastal town of Oamaru.

Suitable for all ages, the trail is an easy to intermediate grade made up of wide and smooth terrain (firm gravel or sealed), with some gentle climbs. The varying elevation offers a wide range of landscapes as you make your way through the Mackenzie and Waitaki regions.
